Privacy notice
Effective 25 October 2026
This notice covers the stillcount.app website and the waitlist. The short version: the website sets no cookies and runs no analytics, the waitlist holds only what you give it, and what you track in the app stays on your phone. The app’s full privacy policy will be published here before the beta.
Who we are
Stillcount is made by one person, Bence Bánfi, in Budapest, Hungary (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the personal data described here.
What we collect
If you join the waitlist: your email address, the date and time you agreed, which version of the consent text you agreed to, whether you asked to test the beta, and, only if you choose to answer, what you want to count, whether you want to stop or cut back, and whether you use iPhone or Android. We also note which link brought you to the page (for example a TikTok or Instagram link), not who you are on that platform, and the language your browser is set to (for example “hu”), so we can write to you in your language once the app speaks it.
When you visit the website: like any website, our server processes your IP address and basic technical information (browser type, time of visit, page requested) to deliver the page and protect it from abuse.
If you email us: your email address, your message and anything you attach. Please don’t include health details unless you need to.
What we never do: no cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising, and nothing loaded from other companies’ servers. We never sell or share your data for advertising.
The app: what you track (your start date, days, slips, urges, notes and settings) stays on your phone. We have no server that receives it, and the app does not send it anywhere.
Why, and on what basis
| Use | Legal basis (EU and UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Waitlist and launch emails (at most five, the last on 31 December 2026) | Your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). Because the list relates to habits such as alcohol, we treat it as explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)). |
| Beta invitations | Your consent, given with the separate box |
| Answering your emails | Our legitimate interest in answering you (Article 6(1)(f)) |
| Delivering and protecting the website | Our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) |
We use double opt-in: you confirm your address before you are added, and every email has a one-tap unsubscribe link. Your sign-up is first saved on our own server (hosted by Rackhost in Hungary); from there it goes to Brevo, which sends the confirmation email, and the copy on our server is deleted.
Who processes it for us
- Brevo (France) sends the waitlist emails and stores the list for us, in the EU, under a data processing agreement.
- Rackhost (Rackhost Zrt., Hungary) hosts the website and our email on its servers in Hungary, under a data processing agreement.
- Apple and Google: only if you ask to test the beta, we add your email address to Apple’s TestFlight or Google Play’s tester list, so they can send you the test version. They then process it under their own policies.
Nobody else receives your data from us, unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Your sign-up on our server, before it reaches Brevo | Until it is passed to Brevo, at most 30 days |
| Waitlist email and optional answers | Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. If the project stops, we delete the whole list. |
| Beta tester email at Apple or Google | Until the beta ends or you ask to be removed |
| Emails you send us | 12 months after the conversation ends, then deleted. Earlier on request. |
| Website server logs | 30 days, then deleted |
Your rights
If you are in the EU, the EEA or the UK, you can:
- ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
- have it corrected or deleted;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- receive it in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing, without affecting what happened before.
Email privacy@stillcount.app. We reply within one month, and may ask you to write from the address you used, so we know the request is yours. You can also complain to the Hungarian data protection authority, NAIH (naih.hu), or to the authority where you live or work; in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Stillcount is for adults 18 and over. If you think a child has joined the waitlist, tell us and we will delete the entry.
If we change this notice, we update the date at the top. If a change affects the waitlist, we email the list first.
